Hello, my friends and the occasional relative!
The Thief and The Demon hardback copy is HERE! A little late to the party, but a welcome guest nonetheless. I’m fixing the non-formatted blurb. I fixed the other two versions that also got crammed together when I changed their covers, but for some reason it did not stick with the hardcover, so I’ve fixed it again. Now I must exercise patience.
This was a busy week. Work, non-work, you name it. I’m a little closer to beginning my odyssey in narration. I’ve written a bit more of The Red Palace, but it is presenting me with difficulties. Ideas that seem simple at first glance can prove harder than you’d like to execute. I’m thinking I may write scenes as needed, and then sculpt them together. It’s a lot of dialogue. A LOT. I’m beginning to wonder if that is too one note. Need to explore more. Lean into it as an experiment, or maybe add a car chase and an explosion?
Writing, not as easy as you think.
And now it is Tuesday evening and my battery has just run flat. I watched Alien: Earth. I’m reserving judgement. As regular readers know I am a bit of an Alien fan. I was by some standards remarkably forgiving of Romulus (despite many many misgivings about various plot holes), so I’m holding fire on Earth at present. But it is kind of hard. Alien overbite. That’s it, that’s all I’m going to say for now, and that is a tinier of my quibbles.
Hopefully more battery power and more progress next week. For now, my friends, sleep well. I had some crazy-awesome alien dreams this week. And I bought yogurt for a cardboard gold piece: in the dream it was for some sort of in-game advantage. The subconscious mind is a wondrous thing.
Keep dreaming.
