Hello, my friends and the occasional relative!
Fourteen versions and a few fragments later, I have something approaching a reasonable blurb for the book. It is not deliberately seeded with search optimization friendly phrases. I’ll look and see what can be ‘subtly’ added. Perhaps. I wonder, given the evolution of search engines, what the latest SEO tactics are. I’m guessing I should educate myself.
Today has been a long day. I hate yardwork. I did a lot of it today. For some reason I was into it. I suspect it is a form of productive procrastination – yes I am entirely capable of that! So, yardwork (mulching, weeding, chopping bushes, bagging chopped bushes, activating sprinkler system, finding two sprinkler heads to troubleshot via YouTube videos later), blurb editing, phone calls. Hot tub. Hot tub was awesome. Laundry and kitchen activity too. Why am I telling you this? Because it led me to delaying sending an email to my cover artist. Maybe after this blog is posted. Or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow. But I still have weed whacking to do. Man, I hate yardwork.
On the plus side I drank a lot of water, and my kidneys are grateful. *pause for further ingestion*
The good thing about the fourteen versions is the abandoned words and phrases can probably be reworked into ad copy. Some of them anyway. I plan to have 5 ad campaigns for the new book, and 5 new campaigns for both the older books, all to launch when the book launches. That’s a lot for me, I’m guessing the old self-publishing pros out there would advise double that, with specific tactics employed and experimented with to see what ads hit better and are most cost efficient. I’ll do some of that. More education to be had. With three books out I think the investment in working harder on advertising and branding will be worth it.
So there you have it, my friends. A soft bed beckons, in anticipation of unexpected aches and pains tomorrow morning as I grunt my way toward the shower! I wonder if I’ll have any interesting dreams…
