Hello, my friends and the occasional relative!

Pushy headline, eh? Well, I meant it! If you have random gift cards/cash all of a sudden, (for mysterious unknown but possibly calendar related reasons), then splurge a little and help a writer out!

If you or someone you know likes dark, grown-up fantasy for adults, then indulge, and buy my books. I can’t lie, The Killer and The Dead is not for the faint of heart in terms of subject matter and graphic violence, but none of it (where used, and it is not splattered everywhere) is gratuitous because it truly does serve character and plot. It is not for kids. Ever. The Thief and The Demon explores a dark world where bad things can happen and the powerful treat little people as nothing more than pawns, if they notice them at all, but intelligence, ingenuity, love, loyalty, and sacrifice can make a difference. In both books there is growth and change on the part of the protagonist. Can thieves and killers become better people? You decide!  

And once you have bought my books for yourselves or those you know who might appreciate such things, go looking for fresh talent. Type in strange search terms into any bookish website, and see what pops up. Read reviews and see if they help you make a decision/pull the trigger on a purchase. (If you have read my books – please go and leave a review – they are so useful to potential buyers, even the negative ones!)

This is a time of year to take a chance if you have a rare bit of disposable income. If you’re a reader, try something new. After my books, of course! Times are hard: food, housing, heat, and clothing take priority, prescriptions should never be missed, transport costs must be covered, debts paid down. But if you are fortunate enough to have a bit to spare, tied up in a gift card that needs to be used, consider helping out your friendly neighborhood author. (No I don’t want you to send me gift cards – this isn’t that kind of solicitation! Just buy my books, and review them. Please. Thanks.)

And to make it easier on you both my books will be on sale from December 28^th to January 4^th in the UK and US at 99p and 99c respectively! Ebook edition. For under a quid/buck you get years of effort for less than the price of a lottery ticket – no, I’m not guilting you into it, do you think I would ever stoop so low? And for less than that lottery ticket you are guaranteed a result – massive enjoyment, or maybe a hate read – the only way to find out is to buy!

The bleak midwinter has passed, but we are a long way from spring. Curling up with a book is a great way to get from here back to the days of sunshine and walks that are more enjoyment than endurance for those of us who don’t masochistically enjoy the cold, and yes, I’m being northern hemishpereist. I love my southern hemisphere chums and pals, but snow is falling and ice is forming where I am, so your summer is not where my mind can currently reside, except in dreams! We each take our turns in the sun.

Take care of yourselves, my friends. Stay warm, buy my books. And review them. And recommend them, if you feel so moved. The next time we speak it will be a new year, in both hemispheres, and my sales will still be active, just saying! (I meant to write “and I will talk then about goals for 2024”, but got sidetracked by one last sales pitch. If you’re going to sell, go all in, someone said somewhere sometime.
